When I hit “Go Live” for the second episode of Unpacking LIVE, I was still carrying a little bit of nervous energy — but more than anything, I felt excited. This was a conversation I needed to have.
The topic? Creating your own luck — especially as a queer person navigating uncertainty, rejection, and all the chaos the world throws our way.
Joining me again was Joseph A. Federico, writer and long-time Hunky Tops collaborator. We explored what it means to stop waiting for permission and start shaping our future with intention, even when motivation is low or the system feels stacked against us.
🧭 Here’s what we talked about:
- Why “luck” isn’t random — and how queer folks are uniquely positioned to redefine it.
- The role of habits vs. motivation, and how showing up for yourself daily builds long-term wins.
- Journaling to your future self (yes, it’s a thing — and it’s powerful).
- How to set boundaries with negativity — especially the kind coming from the news cycle.
- The importance of queer community and cheerleading one another.
And yes — we even gave a shout-out to the T-shirts we wore and talked about the stories behind them, because that’s what we do at Hunky Tops. 💪🏽👕

We’ll be back in a couple of weeks for Episode 3 of Unpacking LIVE. Until then…
Stay visible. Stay resilient. Stay hunky.
