August was about getting away. September is about what you came back to.
Most of this tribe works. Job site, delivery route, warehouse, the shop, the truck, the classroom, the ward, the bar you close down on a Friday. You put in a day. Some of you put in two. And then you come home and take off a shirt that nobody photographed, because nothing about it feels like it deserves a picture.
I disagree. So this month, wear your Hunky Top to work, or on the way to it, or on the way home from it, and take the photo there.
The truck cab before you pull out. The break room at ten. The tailgate at lunch with your boots hanging off it. The parking garage at the end of a long one. Behind the counter, on the floor, in the chair, at the desk with the third coffee. Whatever your day actually looks like.
And if you don't punch a clock, you still qualify. Retired counts. Between things counts. Working from your kitchen table counts, and so does the errand run, the school pickup, the volunteer shift, the day you simply got through. Nobody's checking your timesheet.
September's also the month everybody puts the tank away and reaches for something with sleeves. Wear what you're actually wearing.
